Ebony Rain Eatmon

A lifelong resident of Acres Homes, E. Rain Eatmon founded the Acres Homes Community Advocacy Group in 2022.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Texas Southern University, Rain started her career in community organization by creating the first-ever Garden City Music Festival, which grew to become the Acres Homes Renaissance Festival. She would later go on to host the first-ever Acres Homes Day Community Celebration (44 Day). 
 
Her involvement in the arts led her to a job as a Special Projects Coordinator with Texas State Representative Jarvis Johnson (District 139). Previously, Rain also worked with several nonprofit organizations that advocated for people from marginalized communities with holistic legal support, volunteer connections, social services, and trauma-informed care.

As the current CEO, Eatmon leads the Acres Homes Community Advocacy Group using her many years of experience and passion to improve the lives of the members of her community. experience and passion for Acres Homes as a guide.

As a trained musician and long-time community activist, Rain looks forward to running a people-focused campaign rooted in grassroots support and neighborhood organizing. She sees herself not as a bought and sold political insider but rather as a concerned citizen committed to public service and carrying on the legacies of Sheila Jackson-Lee and Sylvester Turner.


Right now, the Democratic Party is out of tune. We’ve played the same broken melody while people cry out for a new song. Our democracy is hanging on by a thread, and we can't keep dancing to the same old beat.
